I have listened to Heavy Metal my entire life. As soon as I formed an
attention span I formed a love for music, from the very start I was always drawn
to the works of Classical composers, and to Heavy Metal. These were the two
forms of music that conveyed true substance and meaning, and a presence of both
Passion and Power, music that speaks, not only to you but also through
you. When Battle Hymns was released I was floored! It was as if the music I
was hearing was made just for me. That day I swore Allegiance to MANOWAR, and
as time would reveal they too, swore allegiance to me, and through this
unbreakable bond between MANOWAR and their fans, a new world sprung forth. A
world full of true value, a world of Honor, Loyalty, Respect and of true empathy
and caring. The world of the Immortal Warrior. I am Proud to be one of
the Army of Immortals, to stand by the side of my Brothers and Sisters in The
House of Death. All
Hail, MANOWAR! Glory, Majesty, Unity, Hail…Hail…Hail

I have loved Metal since 1975, Deep Purple Burn and
RitchieBlackmore's Rainbow were my first heavy albums, and I still love them to
this day. The very first time I ever heard Manowar was Hail To England in 1984,
at the age of 18. I was immediately drawn into their entire attitude: I
understood from that point on how much of a spiritual experience Heavy Metal
could be. Manowar's music meant you could be a hero, even in your own, day to
day life. When I listened to Army of Immortals, I couldn't help but love
Manowar, I was so happy, inspired, and touched that Manowar loved their fans
that much...to make a whole, beautiful song all about their fans. It's as though
Manowar wanted their fans to see themselves as the heroes. It was then I first
intimated that Manowar are the true Kings Of Metal. Their most recent studio
release, Gods of War, only affirmed my 24 year long love for Manowar. It is an
unstoppable Metal Masterpiece. We Immortals could never expect less from these,
the Heavy Metal Warriors of the World.

Lena Hagg

Back in the year of the dragon when I was
born under the sign of the hammer, I was given the name Lena.
It was 1964; There was great music all around me. Mama loved Elvis, Buddy
Holly, and Dean Martin. (All the greats of the time really.) Daddy loved Johnny
Cash, and all the great 1950's Doo-Wop artists. Grandma loved Wagner, Bach, and
Beethoven. Grandpa loved the sound of the great big bands of the 1940's.
I LOVED IT ALL!!!! I couldn't get enough!
Naturally, since my parents were music lovers themselves, they encouraged me to
listen to all the music that I could get my hands on. That is, until I grew
older and really started exploring music on my own. They didn't like it too
much when I brought home the music of Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple,
Nazareth, Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Van Halen, Rainbow, Aerosmith, Santana, etc.
Too many to mention really. Yep, that's when it all changed. That's when they
started yelling at me to, "Turn that shit down!!!!"
Of course, those words only made me wantto turn it up louder (hehehe), and seek more music. Still didn't feel
quite complete for some reason. Little did I know what was in store for me
next. Little did I know that I was about to find the music that I would NEVER
turn down.
It was 1982, my 18th year, when I came
across ManOwaR's Battle Hymn's at my local record store here in Chicago,
Illinois, U.S.A. (That's where I hail from.) From the moment the needle
finished revolving around that record, I was hooked! I listened to it over and
over. Each and every song on that album blew me away!!!! Every single song that
ManOwaR's recorded since has done the very same! I can not say this of any
other band. ManOwaR NEVER SEIZES TO AMAZE ME!!!!
ManOwaR changed my life!!!! I became a
true metal person on that very day! With this new life, I felt it only
appropriate that I have a new name. I started calling myself Metallena. (
'Cause I Know One Thing Really Sets Me Free...!!!! ) That's what people
that know me very well call me. Those who don't know me all that well have
dubbed me That Crazy ManOwaR Lady and/or The ManOwaR Freak. I LOVE IT!!!! I'll
answer proudly to any of the names that I've mentioned.
Last year though, in 2009, I was given
the title that makes me feel like the happiest, most honored, and proudest
person to have ever walked this Earth!!!! Through being able to prove to
ManOwaR that I have been very supportive, very dedicated, and very devoted to
the band for close to three decades now, I was named their ultimate sister of
steel. (Yes, yes, yes, I am; I am "FANtastically FANatic" about
ManOwaR!!!!) I'm not saying this to boast. (Eh, maybe just a little.) AGAIN, I
am so happy, honored, and proud, but, you see, ManOwaR's music had already given
me this sense of honor and pride. That's what ManOwaR's music does for
all of their true fans! ManOwaR has the best fans on this Earth, and we are ALL
#1.
Now I'd like to say a few words about
what ManOwaR's music means to me. Well, number one, it's my life!!!! It gives
me power! It gives me courage! It gives me a feeling that I can conquer
anything, but most of all it gives me "The Will To Go On And Fight Through
Endless Suffering". ManOwaR's music is epic! It's phenomenal ! It is TRUE
fucking Heavy Metal, and there's nothing better than hearing them live!!!! Yep,
when they're louder than Hell and playing on ten, that's when I'm in Valhalla! Yeah, that's when!!!! I've seen them
several times, but not as much as I'd like to. It's never enough. I belong at
each and every hall. I love the pure power that comes off the stage when
ManOwaR plays; I love having my face melted off!!!! They truly are the best!!!!
I'm just so glad that I came to their
side, and that The Sign Of The Hammer IS, indeed, my guide!!!! It will be
immortally! ManOwaR's made me so proud for they have proved a whole lot over
the years. ManOwaR's music has been with me each and every day of my adult
life, and believe me, I'm still promoting the band as much as I possibly can. I
don't know what the deal is over here in The United States. I MISS MY BAND!!!!
Ironically though, the one time I actually felt as if I belonged was when I was
in Germany last year with all my sisters and brothers. Most of us didn't even speak the
same language, but ah, the unity!!!! It's beautiful.
My true brothers of metal and sincere
sisters of steel know that ManOwaR's music is not just something that you hear
; It's something that you feel. I truly feel sorry for the ones who do not have
ManOwaR in their hearts as we do. It's a great feeling!!!! I truly believe that
if there were more people in this world with this feeling that the world would
be a much better place!!!!
If you have this feeling, you are
probably here and know exactly what I am talking about. If you don't have this
feeling, what are you waiting for? Go listen to ManOwaR, the loudest, truest
Heavy Metal band ---- EVER!!!!
FUCK THE WORLD!!!!
HAIL AND KILL!!!!
